St. Cyril : St. Cyril of Alexandria Altar Servers

St. Cyril of Alexandria Altar Servers

Boys and girls in grades 5 through 12 of the school or in Faith Formation classes, contribute to this ministry by assisting the priest during the Mass.

To responsibly assist the priest during the celebration of the weekly, funeral, wedding and school Masses.

Volunteer Time Commitment and Duties

Training for new altar servers takes a few hours to complete and occurs during the weekdays for students from the school and on Sundays for students of Faith Formation.  Once a server is trained, the time commitment is limited to the Masses that they serve.  Altar servers may work with the scheduler and the Rectory to select a certain weekly Mass to serve, or serve as needed.

Organizer and Trainer: Mr. Bob Sowa
All volunteers over age 18 must register with the Diocesan Safe Environment Database for the protection of children and young people and complete all clearance requirements.

Of Note

When servers are required for weddings or funerals, they are contacted individually as needed.

If you are interested in serving the parish as an altar server or to help with the organization and training of altar servers, please contact the Rectory at 412-761-1552.
