Welcome to our parishioners, neighbors and friends of St. Cyril of Alexandria parish.
“Welcome” is a word you will see and hear many times around our historic parish in Brighton Heights and around this Web site. The word and the sentiment are integral to our parish mission statement, which includes this sentence: “Our parish family welcomes and accepts without judgment all those who wish to join us.”
Evidence that our welcome is heartfelt can be seen through our diverse membership: We are young, mature, and old; we are kindergartners, college students, professionals, blue-collar laborers, and retirees; we are white, black, brown, Asian and every combination; we roll up to Church in our cars, on our bikes, and in our wheelchairs.
Inside St. Cyril’s church are two defining visual symbols: a beautiful garnet and gold wall-sized mosaic behind the altar and 24 inspiring stain-glass windows. The mosaic and the windows are composed of small sparkling pieces that together form an awe-inspiring picture. That’s how we think of our multi-faceted congregation.
So join us for worship, prayer, education, community service, fellowship, and the sacramental celebration of every major life-affirming event.
In a polarizing secular world, such acceptance is a welcome change.
